A decorative Swiss 18 carat gold open faced grande sonnerie quarter repeating cylinder pocket watch with quarter-hour and hour strike, circa 1850. Bridge movement, two hammers, two gongs, two barrels, cylinder escapement, steel ring balance. Silver, engine-turned dial with Roman hours, applied floral gold decoration in the centre. The case is chased and engraved, the back with a finely engraved portrait of a woman surrounded by a rich foliage decor with putti. Case numbered, cuvette signed.
