A rare German silver pair cased verge pocket watch, circa 1790. Full plate movement, chain and fusee, three arm brass balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five-minute numerals. Plain case.

Antoine Nicolas Delolme was born in 1752 and died in 1836. He was a German watchmaker and maker to the court at Brunswick. Delolme, a descendant of a Swiss watchmaking family married the daughter of Brunswick maker Franz Christian Schwarz in 1780. The couple had 10 children, with six of them surviving. The youngest son Henry Delolme was born in 1799 and became a watchmaker in London.
