A German silver cylinder watch with date and large slow beating balance, circa 1790. The gilded movement features a decorative pierced backplate, engraved with scrolling foliage, a cylinder escapement, a fusee and chain, a large flat balance, a decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge with a polished steel endcap, and a broad regulation arc at the edge of the plate. The restored white enamel dial, signed Hahn Junior in Stuttgardt, includes subsidiary dials for the date displaying Arabic numerals, and the time represented with Roman numerals, an outer minute ring, a blued steel central seconds hand pointing to the outer track and an aperture for winding. The silver case boasts a plain polished back, scooped bezels, and a stop slide on the bezel at the 15 second marker. The case is stamped LKB within a rectangular cartouche.

Movement is not running when fully wound; however, a little impetus will set it running for a few seconds, and the balance seems to be beating seconds. There is a crack at the edge of the movement plate caused by the catch. There is also a crack in the movement hinge. The securing pin for one of the dial feet is slightly raised above the setting, preventing the movement from sitting firmly in the case. The date has not been tested. The dial has been restored in soft enamel, with some bumpy areas and a chip towards the centre of the subsidiary seconds. The case is tarnished and dirty, with small marks, but closes securely.
