An extremely rare and technical high interesting German pocket watch with special escapement, circa 1790.
Silver case, gilt with reeded mid section and case punch “D ” and “14”. Experimental movement with huge 5-arm balance, seconds oscillator, flat hairspring, extravagant cylinder escapement with silver cylinder escape wheel and engraved under the dial 1823 AK. White enamel dial with decentralized time display, subsidiary dial for the date, center seconds and golden arrow hands.

Christian Gottfried and Christoph Matthäus were “Hofmechanikus” (court suppliers) in Stuttgart.
