A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced pocket watch with alarm, circa 1903. ½ Plate movement, a hammer, a gong, seesaw winding, two barrels, club tooth lever escapement, screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with luminous Arabic numerals, sunk alarm disc with Arabic numerals at 12 and sunk subsidiary seconds at 6. Plain case.
Dial signed, case and movement numbered.

Zenith SA is a Swiss luxury watchmaker. The company was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle in the canton of Neuchâtel and is one of the oldest continuously operating watchmakers. Favre-Jacot invented the concept of ‘in-house’ movements, believing that only through control of the entire watchmaking process, perfection could be achieved. Zenith was purchased by LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) in November 1999, becoming one of several brands in its watch and jewellery division which includes TAG Heuer and Hublot.
