An ultra flat French/Swiss 18 carat gold open faced lever presentation watch, circa 1940. Bridge movement by European Watch & Clock Co. Inc., Swiss, a piston tooth lever escapement and screw compensation balance. Silver plated dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track and blued Breguet hands. A plain case, the push back with dedication engraving Tout le spectacle a BLON-DHIN son bienfaiteur 8-5-44 (For all of Blon D’hin’s performances by his patron 8-5-44). Dial signed Cartier, case numbered, movement signed European Watch & Clock Co. Inc. Swiss. Comes with the original green presentation box.

Bruno François Fieremans (1874-1951), called Georges Blon D’hin or Blon D’hin was a French singer of Belgian descent. He began his career in 1900 as a comedian and appeared in various revues in Paris and the provinces, along with other Belgian artists. Although his career lasted until the 1930s, Blon D’hin was a major insurance agent throughout his life. Among other things, he founded the Artists’ Day and the Sabot de Noël for the benefit of the children of artists.
