A very fine French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced key wound pocket watch made by Jean-Antoine Lépine in Paris, circa 1810. The movement with a verge escapement. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute dots, Arabic quarter hour numerals and gold Louis XIV hands. The case back with a central, oval polychrome enamel scene surrounded by a guillouché border, both bezels with white enamel and outermost blue translucent enamel enhanced with gold floral and foliage decoration. Dial signed and movement numbered.
