A French silver open faced key wind calendar pocket watch made by Julien Le Roy in Paris, dial circa 1680, case and movement circa 1760. The gilt full plate fusee verge movement with a pierced and engraved balance bridge, and three arm balance. An earlier, finely engraved astronomical silver dial featuring eccentric time indication at 6 o’clock with Roman hour numerals and a single hand, the date at 12 with an inner turning disc for the moon phases, an aperture for the months on the left and to the right an aperture for the days as planets. A polished case. Movement signed and numbered. Comes with a winding key.
