English gold repoussé quarter repeating watch Circa 1740

An English gold quarter repeating pair cased repoussé verge pocket watch, circa 1740. Gilt full plate movement with pierced and engraved balance bridge. Gold champlevé dial, Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute track. Finely pierced and engraved inner case with hunting scenes, outer repoussé case depicting The Birth of Venus, finely pierced edge with cartouches of male and female busts, pierced bezel with alternating chased scenes, strike/silent pusher to the band. Movement signed.
