A very fine and extremely rare French U.S. twenty dollar coin fitted with a concealed watch made by Cartier in Paris, circa 1930. The rhodium plated movement with Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with eight adjustments, flat blued steel balance spring and an index regulator. Matte silver dial with bold Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and blued steel Breguet hands. A 1914 U.S. twenty dollar coin with Lady of Liberty on one side, the reverse showing the bald eagle and reading United States of America Twenty Dollars In God We Trust and the inscription E Pluribus Unum around the edge, the hinged cover with a catch on the edge, the hinged inner case with a polished bezel and the back secured with screws in the band on an engine turned surround. Dial signed.
