Gold quarter repeating chronometer

An almost as new Swiss 18 carat gold half hunting cased quarter repeating precision chronometer with chronograph made by LeCoultre & Cie, circa 1890. Sold by M.J. Pack in Paris and Bombay. The glazed bridge movement with two hammers and two gongs, a pivoted detent rocker chronometer escapement, gold screw compensation balance and free swinging, blued, cylindrical balance spring. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, outermost fifth of a second divisions with Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade hands. The engine turned case with a decoratively engraved vacant cartouche on the back and on the front a translucent blue enamel chapter ring with radial white Roman numerals, punched with maker’s mark P&P. The cuvette engraved with technical details and signed by the retailer, case and movement numbered.
