A small Swiss virgule in a gold and enamel case, circa 1790. Key wind gilt bar movement with suspended going barrel, plain sector cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Rare virgule escapement, brass escape wheel. Engine turned gold dial with applied gold Arabic numerals, gilt hands. The case back depicting a couple in a formal garden on either side of a bluebell on which stands a gilt cupid. Wound and set through the signed and numbered gilt metal cuvette.
