A French 18 carat three colour gold and enamel open faced pocket watch made by
Jean Antoine-Lépine in Paris, circa 1790. The gilt full plate verge fusee movement features a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, gilt plain three arm balance with blue steel spiral hairspring and silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Winding through the white enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, and gold pierced and engraved hands. The translucent blue enamel case back with a central multicolour gold scene in an oval surrounded by applied three colour gold decoration, the bezels are decorated to match.
