An extremely thin Swiss 18 Carat gold cylinder pocket watch with very thin Lépine calibre, circa 1850. Extremely rare calibre, similar to the Bagnolet calibre but with hinged dome, dome with enamelled signature, negative winding shafts like the Bagnolet calibre, cylinder escapement. Floral engraved silver dial with Roman numerals and fine Breguet hands. Case engraved to the back, back lid inside with gift dedication: König Otto, dem K.K Postverwalter Karl Bauer Carlsbad, 10. August 1856. Comes with original box and original key.
