Gold and enamel full hunter by Guinand & Fils

A Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel hunting cased pocket watch made for the South American market, circa 1860. Lever movement, gold wheels, wolf’s toothing. Typical South American champlevé gold and enamel dial with Roman hours, subsidiary seconds, blued steel Breguet hands. Case enamelled on both sides, the front depicting a saint, diamond-set, the back with a very rare representation of a burning heart, pierced by a dagger, above two flowers set with diamonds. Cuvette signed, additionally inscribed Patente Montado.
