Gold open faced lever watch

Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch from the mid 19th century. This mechanical timepiece features a lever escapement and a key winding system, and includes its winding key. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel spade hands. The 18 carat yellow gold case has a finely reeded caseband and a guilloché back decorated with an engraved central rectangular cartouche within a detailed foliate frame. The solid gold dust cover opens to reveal the frosted gilt brass plate movement. It is engraved with a rectangular ancre stamp, Echappement Compense, and 13 Trous en Rubis.
