Gold lever with eight day going movement

An absolute rarity, this full hunter cased pocket watch with eight day movement, probably, original gold key and sales box made by Ulysse Nardin in Le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1860. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, is engine turned on both sides with a central engraved ornament on the front lid, has a cast and decoratively engraved band and the cuvette is inscribed with the technical details. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. The numbered and extremely rare movement is fitted with two barrels, screwed gold chatons, a lever escapement, 17 rubies, a compensated balance wheel and diamond endstone.
The cuvette and movement have matching numbers, and the cuvette, dial and movement are signed.
