One of the earliest Swiss 18 carat gold open faced astronomical verge pocket watch with perpetual calendar, circa 1790. Full plate movement, verge escapement. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, six scales beside the time indication, the tip of the hour hand is missing. The case back with an elaborately engraved nobility coat of arms. This piece has, besides the time indication, all functions of a perpetual calendar, including leap year, and additionally the moon phases and the age of the moon.
