A unique and extremely rare French gold hunting cased pocket watch, circa 1870. Exceptional bridge movement in chronometer quality, special lever, extremely long regulator hand. Cuvette inscribed Remontoir Perpétuel Bréveté mi Chronomètre B. Haas Jne Bréveté Fournisseur de S.M. l’Empereur Besançon – Paris – Genève. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds, filigree Breguet hands. Engine-turned case, both sides with black enamelled engravings with church motifs, the front with Jesus, the back with a cross, cup and bible, early automatic winding by opening and closing the spring lid according to the patent of B. Haas. Dial, cuvette and movement signed, case numbered. Comes with the original box.
