Early silver open faced oignon watch by J. Jolly

A fine and early French silver open faced single handed oignon verge watch with alarm, circa 1640-1660. Full plate gilt brass verge movement, chain fusée, finely engraved and pierced large balance cock, later silver disc calibrated regulator, pierced Egyptian pillars. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, central single hand and later central silvered disc for alarm. Large pierced and engraved case, foliate design to bezel and rim, back case with central engraved plaque. Movement signed.
