A heavy and fine Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating lever pocket watch, circa 1904. Precision lever movement, repeating the minutes, Le Coultre calibre. Gilt dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands. Cuvette signed Marius Lecoultre Rue Bonivard 8 Gèneve, dated 23.September 1904. Plain case. Dial signed, cuvette signed and numbered.

Marius LeCoultre was born on 1st February 1847 in Geneva. He was the son of the watchmaker couple Eugène Constant LeCoultre and Louise Jaqueline Simone Soldano. His famous company produced complicated watches of the highest quality. In 1887 he was honourably mentioned in the Geneva ‘Concours de Chronométrie’. At the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, he showed complicated and highly precise watches and took part in the National Exhibition in Geneva in 1896.
