Gold repeater with independent and stoppable Seconde Morte by Lépine

A very fine and technically complicated French 18 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating lever pocket watch with independent, stoppable seconde morte, circa 1840. Lever escapement, two barrels for the movement and the independent seconds, repeating the hours and quarter hours. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, blued Breguet hands. Engine-turned case, monogrammed, case maker’s mark L. Bole F. Comes with the original box (ring inlay missing). Cuvette signed and numbered, case numbered.
