A very fine and heavy American 18 carat rose gold hunting cased minute repeating lever pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases, circa 1880. Tiered, polished à goutte case, gold dome, slide for the repeating mechanism. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, extra seconds, subsidiary indication of the days, date and months considering leap year compensation, a cobalt blue enamelled gold moon phase disc with golden moon and stars, blued spade hands. Costly decorated rhodium-plated bridge movement, adjusted, two hammers, two gongs, antimagnetic gold screw compensation balance, palladium spring after Paillard’s Patent, counterpoised lever. Case signed.
