An almost as new, heavy American hunting cased pocket watch “lever chronometer”, circa 1880.
18 carat gold, engine-turned, “à goutte” case with reeded band, gold dome and glazed movement. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and blued Breguet hands. 3/4 plate movement, rhodium-plated, with “fausses côtes” decoration, Wilmot’s patent, screwed gold chatons, gold screw chronometer balance, cam type fine adjusting device (Wilmot’s Patent) and counterpoised lever.
