Gold open faced centre seconds cylinder watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced cylinder pocket watch with independent dead centre seconds, circa 1860. Retailed by Lancon à Lyon. Frosted gilt two train movement, 12 jewels, cylinder escapement, three armed, gilt flat rim balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator, independent seconds train driving a flirt acting on the escape wheel. Gold hinged cuvette engraved with technical details. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds track, original blued steel hour and minute hands, and blued steel centre seconds hand. Case with coin edge band, decorated with engine turning within a foliate border to the back, bolt for the center seconds at 5. Cuvette signed by the retailer.
