A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced indirect centre seconds keyless lever dress watch, made in the 1920’s. Retailed by J.E. Caldwell & Co, Philadelphia. Rhodium plated movement, 19 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with timing screws, 8 adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometer regulator. Brushed silver dial with applied gold Breguet numerals, outer minute track with fifths of a second divisions, Arabic five minute numerals and original gold cathedrale hands. Polished case, curved bezel. Movement signed Vacheron & Constantin, dial, case and movement signed J.E. Caldwell & Co Philadelphia, case and movement numbered.
