A very fine, rare and elegant Swiss/French rock crystal, platinum, 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set open faced keyless pocket watch made by Cartier in Paris and the European Watch and Clock Co. in Le Sentier, circa 1930. Rhodium plated movement with Geneva Striping decoration by European Watch and Clock Co. Inc., 19 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with height adjustments and blued steel hairspring. Two tone silvered, engine turned dial with an outer minute track and inner Arabic five minute numerals on a brushed chapter ring, blued steel Breguet hands. A rock crystal case with a diamond set platinum band and platinum triangular bow, the crystal back with engraved initials, the gold and black enamel bezel on the front with alternating Roman hour numerals and gold floral half hour markers. Dial signed Cartier France, movement signed European Watch and Clock Co. Inc.
