Silver repoussé quarter repeater with alarm by Christoph Stiller

A fine and rare German silver repoussé two train quarter repeating coach watch with alarm, circa 1740. Gilt brass full plate two train verge movement, chain fusée, plain three armed steel balance, finely pierced and engraved floral and foliage decorated balance cock and foot, Egyptian pillars, repeating and alarm on two hammers onto a bell, pull quarter repeat. Chased silver dial with Roman numerals, outer railway and Arabic minute divisions, blued steel beetle and poker hands and central revolving alarm disc set by the arbor at 11 o’clock. Large case, pierced and chased foliage bezel decorated with chased repoussé scenes of dogs chasing a rabbit, similarly decorated rim set with four chased repoussé portraits, back with a repoussé scene depicting a scene of the Battle of Vienna, gimbaled pendant. Movement signed.
