Gold and enamel open faced pocket watch

A very rare and unusual Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced two train trip minute repeating keyless split seconds chronograph pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1903. Retailed by J.J. Freeman & Co in Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A. Nickel finished two train jewelled lever movement with a bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two hammers onto a gong activated through the crown. White enamel dial with black Breguet hours, an outer minute track with fifth of a second divisions and red Arabic five minute numerals, sunken subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gilt hands. A hinged case back with a polychrome enamel family crest showing two serpents holding the family crest under a five point crown and cock and a blue swag reading Commit thy work to God, two chronograph buttons in the band to operate the split seconds and a gold cuvette. Case, cuvette, dial and movement signed by the watchmaker, cuvette and movement signed by the retailer, case, cuvette and movement numbered. Comes with an original numbered wooden presentation box.
