A large Swiss 14 carat gold repeating hunting cased keyless pocket watch, circa 1895. With a minute repeater, chronograph, triple date with apertures and moon phases. Attributable to A. Lugrin & Cie, Lémania. A solid case, polished caseback, cover engraved with the cypher F G. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds with moon phases, digital calendar and decorative gold hands. A gilded brass movement, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator; repeater work with silent centrifugal governor; chronograph work on the top plate.

Lemania, later known as Nouvelle Lemania, was a Swiss watch and movement manufacturer founded by Alfred Lugrin in 1884 under the name Lugrin SA in L’Orient Vallée de Joux. Lugrin acquired his expertise as an employee at Jaeger-LeCoultre in Le Sentier, specializing in producing chronographs, stopwatches and repeater watches. In 1895, Lugrin SA moved into its own factory building in L’Orient.
