Between 1902 and 1930 Patek Philippe created an exclusive collection especially for the notable Brazilian watch house Gondolo & Labouriau. These pocket watches feature wolf toothed mechanisms, a patent registration ‘Pat. Jan. 13, 1891’, gold wheels, eccentric adjustment and ‘moustache’ lever escapement. The reputation of the Patek brand in Brazil was so good that the word ‘Patek’ was synonym to a watch as such, whether it was a Patek Philippe or not.
