A French silver Baroque quarter repeating oignon pocket watch, circa 1700. Verge escapement. Very fine white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic minutes. Open work silver case, decorated with birds of paradise, dolphins and foliage.

Guillaume Vitrolles (1673-1754) was born in Paris. He was awarded as master watchmaker, based in the Grande Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Vitrolles was a master in Paris in the rue de Saint-Antoine and was mentioned in 1719. Guillaume Vitrolles died at the age of 81 years.
