Magnificent gold and enamel pocket watch by Frères Melly

A magnificent Swiss beautifully decorated empire gold and enamel pocket watch ‘à trois couleurs’, circa 1790. Gilded and signed full plate movement with verge escapement, chain and fusee, blued screws, fine sawn and engraved balance cock. White enamel, signed, dial with Arabic numberals and gold hands. Great ornate case made of white, red and yellow gold with very finely hand painted enamel painting. The painting depicts an amorous scene with drapery and landscape with fine golden and blue framing with vegetal elements. The watch is in very nice, near mint, fully functional condition.
