Gold and enamel repeating watch by Andrew Dickie
–
An English gold and enamel pair cased half quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1760. This watch features a signed, gilded, full plate verge movement that has been converted to a lever escapement. The white enamel dial showcases Roman numeral hour markers and an outer track for minutes indicated by Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals, with hands set with rose-cut diamonds. It comprises two cases: a gold inner case, pierced and engraved with foliage, a gilt dust cover, and a pierced outer gold case adorned with multicoloured, enamel-decorated foliage. Movement signed Andrew Dickie London.

The case is overall in good condition with surface wear appropriate for its age. The polychrome enamel has been restored with soft enamel. There are no numbers or hallmarks present on the case. The dial has a visible hairline at 7 o’clock. There is some chipping to the enamel at 6 o’clock. Some diamonds in the hands are missing. The half quarter repeating function is not in phase. The verge movement has been updated to a lever escapement, along with the balance assembly. The movement is functioning well.
