A decorative English quarter repeating 22K gold repoussé pair cased pocket watch, circa 1760. Full plate fire gilt movement with turned pillars, verge escapement, three arm steel balance, pierced, chased and engraved cock, diamond endstone, silvered regulation dial, repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant.
Case, pierced, finely chased repoussé with scrolls and a scene of a lady presenting fruit to a warrior. Inner case pierced, chased and engraved with foliage. Gilt dust cover.
White enamel with radial Roman numerals, arcaded minute track and Arabic five minute numerals. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. Movement and dust cover signed. The bell by Drury.

This watch was previously sold in the Lord Sandberg sale, March 31. Francis Upjohn Was the eldest son of James Upjohn with whom he worked until 1773, after wards he worked in Bridgewater Square, London. He became a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers in 1781 and Liveryman from 1787 – 1793.
