A fine, exceptional repoussé rococo quarter repeating English coach clock with quarter hour and hour self strike, alarm and date indicator, Apollo and Daphne, circa 1740.
Silver case, Repoussé case, the back side depicting Apollo pursuing Daphne, her father the river-god Peneus and Amor; pierced border, ornate decoration, rear bell, string for repetition, large lateral hinge. Enamel dial, radial Roman hours, central turnable alarm disc, date window at 6, Fleur de Lys hands. Full plate movement, applied, engraved, orally pierced decorations, fire gilt, signed, chain/fusee, solid movement pillars, three orally engraved barrels for striking and alarm train, four hammers, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, fine orally engraved, pierced balance cock with shell.
