A German 18carat yellow gold open faced keyless pocket watch with Lange’s Guillaume type balance, circa 1900. A polished case with a reeded band. Hinged gold cuvette with engine turned outer ring, stepped hinged case back and bezel. White enamel dial with painted radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands. A. Lange 3/4-plate, frosted gilt movement, 16 jewels some set in gold chatons, straight line escapement, gold pallet fork, gold escape wheel, Lange’s Guillaume type balance with timing screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed, case signed M. Goldsmith.
