A German decorative gold pocket watch, niello work décor by Julius Assmann, circa 1900.
14 Carat pink gold and niello, hunting cased, keyless winding, round- shaped, pocket watch, with subsidiary seconds at 6. Cover and case back engraved and black niello-work enamelled in champlevé with decoration of friezes, foliages and ornaments; the cover showing Flora, goddess of flowers and Spring, stands on a pedestal with a flower sceptre in her hand; the case back decorated en suite with, in the centre, a vase of flowers.
