Gold French quarter repeating cylinder watch

A fine French quarter repeating cylinder watch in an 18-carat gold open faced case, circa 1820. Keywind gilt movement with forty-three rubies. Plain three-arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Steel escape wheel. Push the pendant for the quarter, repeating on two polished steel gongs. Silver engine-turned dial with subsidiary seconds offset at six o’clock, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Fine engine-turned 18 carat open faced case with engine-turned middle. Gold bow and push pendant, locking slide in the band. Wound and set through the plain gilt metal cuvette.
