Pocket watch with musical movement
–
An interesting large Lépine pocket watch with a musical movement under the dial, that can be triggered via a lateral slide in the edge area, made in France, circa 1820. This watch features a numbered 18 carat gold case with an engine turned back lid and a cuvette marked Musique. The very beautiful golden, engine turned dial features an outer minute and hour track with Roman hour numerals and Breguet steel hands. The rare musical movement is equipped with a cylinder escapement and a visible striking mechanism that repeats the hours and the quarters.
