A very fine and rare Swiss 18K gold and enamel lady’s pendant watch, circa 1860. Retailed by Lequesne, Rouen. A polished Louis XV case, the back decorated with an oval painted on enamel scene of a resting shepherdess on a rocky outcrop in an alpine landscape, a black enamel line border, the outer border engraved. Hinged gold engine-turned cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals and gold Louis XV hands. A matte gilt movement, bar calibre, eight jewels, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm gilt balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed, cuvette signed by the retailer.
