A fine French 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set open faced verge lady’s pendant watch, circa 1790. The case back painted on enamel with a lady representing hope, sitting by the shore at sunset, mountains in the background, pearl-set bezels. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2 and blued steel Breguet hands. A  hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, silver regulation dial. Movement signed.
