French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1920. This watch has a hand wound mechanical movement with a standard lever escapement. The white enamel dial displays black Arabic numerals for the primary hours, an inner ring with red Arabic numerals for the 24 hour scale (13–24), a railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and ornate gold hands. The watch has a round, three body solid gold open faced case with a fluted crown, a decorative oval bow, and a matching solid gold inner back cuvette. The case back is beautifully decorated with a finely engraved guilloché pattern of floral scrolls and a vacant cartouche.
