Gold open faced keyless lever watch with matching chain
–
A fine French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with a matching 18 carat gold vest chain made by Tribaudeau in Besançon for Trib, circa 1920. It has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement. The white dial, signed Trib, features black Arabic numerals 1 to 12 for the hours, an inner 13–24 hour scale in red, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel Breguet style hands. The timepiece is housed in a smooth, round, 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a plain, polished reverse back cover, a delicately milled coin edged bezel rim, a fluted winding crown, an oval suspension bow, and a solid 18 carat gold inner protective cuvette. The watch is accompanied by a matching 18 carat yellow gold vest chain with openwork geometric filigree links and a pink gold clasp.
