A decorative, diamond-set gold enamel French verge pocket watch, circa 1790.
18 carat gold case with the back lid costly engine-turned and translucent cobalt blue enamelled, a translucent green, gold and blue enamelled, paste-set stylized flower and a diamond in the centre, foliate border and white enamelled bezels. Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals and blued Breguet hands. Full plate movement, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, conical movement pillars, keywind, three-arm brass balance, engraved and pierced balance bridge.
