A French gentleman’s extremely rare and fine quarter repeating pocket watch with carillon and three jacquemarts – with box, circa 1810.
18 carat rose gold, tiered, polished case with reeded band and slide for silence. White enamel chapter dial with Arabic numerals, jacquemart “à trois couleurs”, a hour striking noble young lady on the left and a quarter striking young noble man on the left side standing on a bouquet of flowers, to their feet another quarter striking putto and it has blued spade hands. Full plate movement, keywind, with 3 hammers, 3 gongs, chain/fusee, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance and a pierced balance bridge.
