A fine French gold, enamel and pearl mandolin-form concealed watch, circa 1840. Full plate gilt verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, star form end piece with ruby jewel showing through sound hole of mandolin fusee and chain.
Concealed white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, blued steel spade hands.
Gold case in the form of a Mandolin, sound board with red translucent over engraved checker base, edged with split pearls, back with translucent blue enamel with gold relief depicting Fauna and a musical score.
