Gold and enamel verge watch set with diamonds and pearls

A very fine French 18K gold, enamel, diamond and pearl-set open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1790. A twist-engraved band, split-pearl-set bezel, the back with a finely painted enamel scene of three figures in an arcadian landscape surrounded by a rose-cut diamond-set border, outer light blue enamel border decorated with gold foliate paillons. White enamel dial, Arabic hours, outer dot minute indexes and Arabic quarter-hour numerals, gold beetle hands. A frosted gilt full plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
