A very fine French Lepine with “Seconde Morte”, probably formerly French nobleman’s possession, circa 1830.
18 K gold very fine “à goutte” case with relief rim on both sides, reeded mid section, noble coat of arms on back, signed “Hugonet a Toulon“, dome inscribed “Secondes Independantes” and lateral slider for stopping the seconds. Bar movement with temperature compensation, special lever, 2 barrels for gear train and independent jumping seconds. Signed white enamel dial with Roman numerals, centre seconds hand and gold Breguet hands.
