Gold repeating pocket watch in the style of Breguet
–
A French 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1820. This watch is fitted with a cylinder movement featuring a bimetallic compensation curb, parachute protection for the balance, and a repeating mechanism on a single gong. Its white enamel dial bears Breguet numerals, blued steel moon hands, and a secret signature below the 12 o’clock position. The finely polished case is paired with a signed dial and cuvette, while the inside case back displays French hallmarks and Breguet serial numbers. It is presented with its original box.

Diameter: 61 mm.
–
Weight: 161.4 g
–
Signed: Breguet
–
This watch is perfectly realised in the style of Breguet.
–
Even though the watch is signed ‘Breguet’ and the dial bears the secret signature, the number shows that the watch does not come from the workshop of Abraham-Louis Breguet. However, the quality is certainly comparable to Breguet’s work. The maker of this watch, based on Breguet’s work, is not known.

Signed: Breguet
